Using Unloop

How does the crisis flow work?

When you feel a compulsion coming on, tap "I'm stuck" on the home screen. You'll pick the action you're pulled toward (Check, Wash, Ask, etc.), optionally rate the intensity, then get a 10-second countdown to pause before acting. After the countdown, you log what happened — Stayed, Paused, or Acted. The whole flow takes under 20 seconds.

What is the 10-second countdown?

The countdown is a brief, guided pause — not a distraction technique or breathing exercise. The goal is simply to put a moment of space between the urge and the action. You don't have to solve anything. "Let the doubt stay" is the only ask. You can skip it if needed.

What does "I reacted" do?

"I reacted" is for moments when you've already acted on a compulsion before opening the app. Tapping it logs the episode immediately with the outcome "Acted" — no countdown, no judgment. The log still contributes to your patterns. Any log still counts.

What are the action types?

Check, Wash, Review, Ask, Search, Repeat, Avoid, and Other. These represent the behavioral action you feel pulled toward — not the content of your thoughts. Unloop never asks what you were afraid of.

Can I skip the intensity rating?

Yes. The intensity step (1–5) is always skippable. Tap SKIP to proceed directly to the countdown.

Quick Access

How do I set up the Siri Shortcut?

During onboarding (or later via Settings → Quick Access → Siri Shortcut), tap "Add to Siri". Once added, say "Hey Siri, I'm stuck" to open Unloop directly into the crisis flow with zero navigation.

How do I add the Lock Screen widget?

On your iPhone, long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Add Widgets. Find Unloop and add the widget. Tapping it opens the app directly into the crisis flow — no unlock needed.

Patterns & Insights

How do patterns and insights work?

After every 10 logged episodes, Unloop generates qualitative insights about your patterns — for example, which time of day is hardest, which action type appears most often, and whether your resistance is trending up or down. Insights are text-only, not raw numbers, and expire after 10 days. Premium users get insights every 5 episodes and access to previous weeks.

Why don't I see any insights yet?

"I reacted" episodes count too. Keep logging — you'll see your first insight after 10 episodes.

Account & Privacy

Can I use Unloop without an account?

Yes. The app creates an anonymous session automatically on first launch — no sign-up required. An optional Apple ID sign-in is available from Settings if you want to back up your data or access it across devices.

Is my data private?

Yes. Unloop contains zero ad trackers and does not sell your data. Your episode data is stored securely (encrypted at rest and in transit) and is used only to power the app — never for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the Unloop app. This permanently deletes all your episode logs, insights, settings, and feedback from our database — no orphaned records. You can also email reactiveweb.support@gmail.com. Note: deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription — cancel that separately in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Subscription

What's included in the free plan?

The core crisis flow is always free — unlimited logging, the 10-second countdown, and the last 30 days of episode history. The free plan never expires and the crisis flow is never paywalled.

What does Unloop Pro include?

Pro unlocks full episode history, the Patterns screen with all qualitative insights, previous weeks view, and custom action chips. Pro includes a 7-day free trial, which begins automatically after your 3rd logged episode — not at install.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store. You can cancel via Settings → Premium → Manage Subscription inside Unloop (which opens Apple's subscription sheet), or directly at iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Safety & Limits

Is Unloop a replacement for therapy?

No. Unloop is a behavioral tool that helps interrupt compulsive loops in the moment. It is not a clinical treatment, a diagnostic tool, and does not replace working with a qualified mental health professional. If you are in acute distress or immediate danger, please contact a crisis service or emergency services in your country.

Does Unloop validate or comment on my fears?

No, and deliberately so. The app never validates or invalidates the content of your fears. It records only what action you felt pulled toward. Reassurance is never provided — this is intentional and grounded in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) principles.

How do I report a bug?

Use the in-app feedback button at Settings → Send Feedback, or email reactiveweb.support@gmail.com. We respond to every report.
